Bomb Threat Made At Court In Northern Westchester, Prompts Evacuation

A court in Northern Westchester was evacuated and searched following a bomb threat, police said.

On Monday, Feb. 27, around 10:20 a.m., police were sent to Peekskill City Court after a report of a possible bomb threat that had been placed, according to Peekskill Police. 

Both Peekskill and New York State Court officers then evacuated the building, and K9 units with the Peekskill and Westchester County police departments commenced a sweep of the facility and surrounding area. 

Ultimately, nothing was found, and the area was deemed safe at 11:30 a.m. Court personnel was then allowed to return to the building.
